Dr. Frank Starling developed the concept of heart rate x stroke volume equals cardiac output. With that said, many physicians will not preach this concept which is important when treating the cardiac patient. A person who has suffered a myocardial infarction needs intense cardiac rehabilitation to say the least. American Doctors for the most part understand the need for excellent cardiac output as well as homeostasis.
