Get PALS Certified

By · Comments (0)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support is a must for all medical personnel practicing in a pediatric hospital. Let us help you get AHA PALS certified today. Getting certified is not as difficult as you might think. It is similar to ACLS in how you progress from one algorithm to the next. The big difference is how much more Airway & Breathing is emphasized. Rhythm interpretation is far less difficult than ACLS. We have instructors ready to help you get certified in PALS. Feel free to give us a call to schedule your class.

While getting the PALS course completed, you should also consider taking the American Heart Association ACLS certification course. This class will enhance your skills and knowledge. In addition, the ACLS will enhance your confidence with the PALS certification course. The standards for both of the certifications are very similar. Please feel free to contact us via phone or by email.

Compressions Per Minute

By · Comments (0)

CPR is the fundamental basic component when it comes to resuscitation of the pulse-less victim. The rate of compressions is crucial to restoring blood flow to the brain and vital organs. At a minimum, you should aim for at least 100 compressions per minute. The depth of the compression is dependent upon the size and age of the victim.

American Heart AssociationThe American Heart Association emphasizes the need for correct, uninterrupted CPR. This is a major component for successful resuscitation. Ems personnel are very cognitive of the importance of excellent CPR. There are more cardiac arrest victims that survive due to the layperson performing good compressions and adequate ventilation’s. Please get involved in your community and help save a life.

New Standards

By · Comments (0)

There are many hospitals who are on the old standards of the American Heart Association.  The new ACLS certification requires new skills and additional knowledge of the algorithms. The V-Fib and V-Tach algorithm has been merged with the Asystole protocol. CPR is highly emphasized with minimum interruption.  Intubation has taken a backseat as well with the Combitube coming to the forefront. Having these new skills under your belt will increase the chance for patient survival. Take the opportunity to attend the new AHA updated courses.ACLS Certification

Learn The Basics

By · Comments (0)

When saving lives the basics must always be considered. Airway, Breathing and Circulation are the core of all teachings.  As any health care provider tell you, the ABCs are a must for any life saving efforts to work. The airway has to be open to allow air to enter and co2 to escape.  An occluded airway must be opened first and foremost. If a person is not breathing, you must provide artificial ventilation until their breathing can be restored. Check for a pulse and assess to see if the patient has a heartbeat. Begin CPR if the patient is pulse-less.

ABCs of CPR Help maintain perfusion by continuing CPR  until Advanced Cardiac Life Support Health Care providers arrive on the scene. Once the paramedics arrive on scene, patient care can be turned over to the medic.

Finally, The basics are the foundation for any life saved. Be a lifesaver and learn your ABC algorithm.
